The electrical performance of an analogue displacement transducer is only as good as the signal conditioning allows. Solartron Metrology has used its considerable experience to produce signal conditioning, numerical displays and controllers that enhance the performance of its analogue transducers and ensure simple and reliable connection to instrumentation and control systems.

The DRC version is a DIN rail mounted signal conditioning unit and is powered from a single 10 → 30 Vdc supply. The outputs of this module are fully adjustable allowing a range of voltage and current outputs to be selected.

BICM In-Line


The BICM in line conditioning unit is recommended for use in harsh environments plus DC operation is achievable by using the BICM in line conditioning unit. The BICM is a simple low cost unit and can be connected up to 10 metres from the sensor and is perfect when the transducer is set up as it is unlikely to need any adjustment. An IP67 variant of the BICM is also available.


TTL/RS422 Differential Quadrature is one of the most commonly used methods of communication between Linear Displacement Transducers and Control or Data Acquisition systems. TLC Compatible Conditioning Unit that will not loose count when the sensor is moved quickly unlike incremental sensors. 500kHz output rate. It’s simplicity of interfacing with programmable systems also makes it one of the most cost effective.

The Solartron ATM module is coupled to Solartron Absolute Position Transducers and converts the output to a digital signal. The transducer signal conditioning is designed such that unlike incremental TTL systems, it will not suffer from “over speeding” or lose position during a power down.
